I was looking over Meg's site today (hurray for it being fixed!) and I noticed that Kit doesn't have an outfit to correspond to her Railway Adventure book. Sam and Molly both got a set of clothes/accessories to accompany their travel books. Why didn't Kit get anything? Any theories/insight? I admit I haven't read the book, so that might have something to do with it, but since I don't have the book I'd appreciate any info you can give me.

P.S. I know it's the Depression, but logistics don't usually seem to stop the creation of new sets...

I thought that Kit's Overalls Outfit was the outfit that corresponded with Kit's Railway Adventure. Maybe I'm wrong. Check this out:

The Overalls outfit was from Kit Saves the Day. At the Shop by Story, it's part of the summer section. It must be hard to know this, as they don't do the "by story" catalogues anymore, where they used to have a page (or two) for each book.

There wasn't an outfit for Kit's book, isn't that weird? I think those books came out really soon after Kit, didn't they? It might have been they were just trying to put out a new book for the new doll, without needing a new outfit, as she was so new that all 6 of hers were new. She does have her birthday outfit on on the cover of the book, but they really could have easily given her a new dress.

Wish it had been the bright yellow one she wears a lot in the books.

If you read the story you'll know why. She won the trip in a contest, and that was good because they nver could have aforded a trip like that.

She wanted to bring home souvineers for her family and friends, but she had to try to find free things to give people as souvineers because she did not have any money to buy stuff.

So what she gets as souvineers are pasted in the book, because they are just like paper things mostly, not real stuff like Molly's bank or Sam's stereoscope.

Because of all that, we can assume that she did not have money for a new outfit.

I wanted her to have a new one too, but on the other hand I am quite pleased that AG was realistic about her trip and her fmaily's financial situation.

Oh your right! I wish they had made the yellow one, thats right about it not really being "new".

BTW if your wondering she won an essay contest about the Civilian Conservation Corps which her brother Charlie was a member of. Kit wrote an essay, you had to write an essay saying what you think is good about the Presidents idea to have this organization and then the winner got to go to the CCC camp or soemthing on a train, free of charge. She took her aunt Millie with her. And it was nice for her bc she got to visit her brother since he was working for the CCC.

This is not really spoilers because I think it may even say all this on the back cover of the book, or atleast anyway its not like its an actual plot.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks for the info! These are some of the few AG books I don't have. They look sooo cute whenever I look at them at Borders/B&N. It sounds like they did a really good job with Kit's.

They still could have used the yellow one, it wouldn't have been a new ouftit for Kit the girl, just for Kit the doll. She wears it a lot in the books. I'm still hoping she'll get the outfit when they do a Kit movie
